Broadwood is the oldest piano company in the world, dating back to early in the 18th century. Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, many of the greatest pianists and composers owned or performed on Broadwood pianos, including Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt. Broadwoods were regarded as powerful and sturdy instruments, well-suited to concert use.

This magnificent art-case grand is believed to be one-of-a-kind. It has been fully-restored by an expert in historic pianos and a furniture restorer specializing in antique marquetry. According to Broadwood's records, this piano "was made to Special design in Louis XVI Style of decoration, with marquetry panels of approved design, carved & gilded mouldings & ornamental margins on Carved & gilded Stand with 6 legs." The restoration work is outstanding including a French Polish on the case, beautiful work on the interior, and perfect ivory keys.

This piano comes with extensive background research, provenance and appraisals. It can be viewed by appointment in New York City.
